Finishes in Stitch and Knit

Here's Blackbird Designs 'Tis the Season'. It was a fun stitch. This is the second cardinal I've stitched recently and feel a 'bird wall' coming into season!

Also finished another Vine and Leaf Beret. I've got the third one, red, ready to cast on. This is such a fun pattern and so relatively easy. Just keep track of the lace pattern and all is well.

I got a new Macbook for Christmas so I've been playing around with it and I LOVE IT. Today I got the photo's uploaded and everything went very well. So...maybe it won't be another month before I post again!!

I've been working on Charlotte Clayton...I'm stitching the dog in the center of the sampler. Plus I've tried my hand at stitching on 40 count silk gauze. Now that is fun and fast....only half stitches. I'm also knitting my first garment, a darling sweater vest for Corinne. So far, so good. I'm really proud of myself.

So - every one of you stay warm. It's chilly again in Florida. I brought my orchids in the house this afternoon. Orchids don't do well below 45 degrees and it's supposed to be freezing for a couple of days. And, they're getting ready to bloom!! So the cats and I are all snug as some bugs in a rug...or should I say snuggie!!

Cari, you really are developing a cardinal collection! How beautiful this is! And the hat -- ooooohhh! I love the pattern and I love that color! I'm a green person at heart. lol! Good going on Charlotte Clayton -- isn't that dog cute? And hey, welcome to the world of Macbooks! lol! Aren't they great? I have one too! Mine is a few years old, but I love it! Now that about the 40ct silk gauze. Really?! It's easy? I have a project lined up that's on 40ct silk gauze, but I'm afraid to try! lol! I hope you show yours off sometime so I can admire! Hugs!

Cari, your BBD finish is wonderful. I have to tell you that I went out and bought the book after I saw your progress on it. It's really beautiful!! And that beret - it's wonderful too. My girlfriend has gotten into lace knitting and said the same thing as you - just keep track of the pattern and you're all set.

I got a new Mac computer for Xmas and I so love this thing. Doesn't it seem like things are easier to do than on a Windows based system? I think so!

Can't wait to see Charlotte and your sweater vest. You've been so busy!!

Beautiful bird, beautiful beret! A bird wall sounds like a fun idea, I love birds, too! I'm too chicken to stitch on 40ct, it scares me! lol Maybe someday you'll have me convinced to try it, but for now I'll just admire all you daredevils out there that do the 40ct. Hug your kitty for me!!!

Cari! I love your cardinal finish, and your hat...is too cute for words. I really will have to learn to do that someday! So darling!
Stay warm. You have a lot of chilly weather this year. I hope all the citrus trees don't freeze. That will mean expensive fruit!
Hugs to you. What a fun post.

Glad to see you around blogland again Cari! Love your "tis the Season" I wanted to do that one - got all the stuff pulled and even had the linen in stash and just never got around to starting it. Same with the beret - I got started on the band and just let it sit. Your green one is gorgeous - Have you seen the one on the cover of the new Knit Simple - LOVE IT ! Have a cozy day! Mel
