Move Over - PALEEZE.....

Do you think I could have some room to put my feet up and stitch?  How many cats does it take to hold down the ottoman?  Three I guess...Pretty Belle, Casanova and Jaxon!  Jaxon is my darling little black cat that you can hardly see.  I love these felines.

They are so funny.  Where ever I am...they are too!

Here's my progress on June Morning.  This has been a really fun stitch.  I kind of shake my head though...using Belle Soie, a beautiful over-dyed silk floss that I cut up into dark, medium and light pieces to stitch with?  What was the point of over-dyed if I'm only using certain shades in certain places?  It's a technique designed by Attic Needlework who did the DMC / Belle Soie conversion and it is really a joy to execute.  I guess I could have just used the called for DMC but where's the fun in that?  I'm loving this piece.

It's been very hot and humid in Florida this past week and will be until October I suppose.  Friday night at midnight it was 85 degrees and 81% humidity.  Thank goodness for A/C and ceiling fans.  With this kind of weather I'll be sittin' in the stitch chair with needle in hand and cats at my feet!

Have a simply fabulous week and thanks for stopping by!  Hugs and Happy Stitching!!

Your cats are so cute, Cari! Hey, they know they're more important than putting your feet up, right? lol! Love your June Morning so far! Fabulous colors! Don't think I'd have the patience to use different parts of the floss though. I think I may have to at some point with a different piece. Bleagh! :D As for your weather -- ick! Can't take that humidity!! Hugs!

I am using an Attic conversion for Mary Wigham that calls for cutting up the floss. It works but it kills me. Of course the medallions are small so I am just cutting one section at a time but still.
I love the colors on your piece.
My cat is always in my face looking to see what I am doing on with an occasional pull at the floss. Worse than kids but gotta love em.

Well, I love how it's turning out, but I don't understand about cutting the Belle Soie either! No no no on the humidity. And I love the cats--I have six here, and there are always two or three wanting to share the stitching chair and quarreling with each other over who gets to lie on the fabric. LOL--they're the best.

Absolutely gorgeous!! It's going to be stunning when you're all done as it's already so beautiful!

Your kitties are a MESS! LOL! A cute mess, but geesh, where are you supposed to put your feet on that ottoman, lol! No, seriously...they are adorable! I miss my kitty. Now it's just always Pugs right up my armpit, can never move an inch one I get settled in to stitch :-)
Gotta love the furbabies though, ha!

Gorgeous felines you have there.
I love June Morning. I did the same thing with the threads on "And They Sinned" it's worth it in the end results.

Oh gee Cari - do I know about that extreme heat and humidity - we did not go in the yard at all this weekend - when it wasn't raining it was just ungodly hot and humid oh and BUGGY. You're right - this is it till October - So thread up your needle and push those kitties off your ottoman and get stitching.
Love your June Morning piece. Mel

Your kitties are too cute! I have two puppies that follow me every where too.

Love June Morning, I have the Attic conversion too. I think I may end up playing a bit fast and loose with the 'rules'.

Your June Morning is stunning! I started this about 5 years ago and have picked it up again recently - going the boring way, DMC on black, but for me it's hard enough like that without adding complications, lol! You're a much braver woman than me, kudos to you.

Too funny about the cats Cari! I have the same issue with the dogs. It's not quite as bad now that Missy is gone and there are only 2 of them but it's a constant battle as to who gets the lap and who gets to squeeze in next to me.

June Morning if gorgeous!! I am enjoying watching your progress on it!

Have a great day!

boy have you made some progress...love the kitties too. I had my sweet Sagebrush for 15 years and miss her...she was definately my stitch buddy as she loved to watch the thread disappear through the linen while on my lap. And yuk for your weather - we have had a couple nice days here in Michigan without humidity - but it's on it's way back...give me 50* and sun any day (or snow, I love the winter)!

Hi Cari,

You're in trouble. I think your cats are in control of the ottoman! I've got a cat problem here too. Mine likes to sit on the back of the sofa and watch me stitch. She's good company. Looks like yours are too.

Cari -
I loved your comment about having to cut the threads to stitch. reminded me of my comments about quilting - do you remember?

Your stitching is incredible - i imagine the back looks the same as the front!
