June Starts

It's a beautiful June morning and here's my start on The Goode Huswife's June Morning. I'm using Belle Soie as 'thread paint' instead of the DMC 'paint by number process'.  I'm really having fun using this technique.  I'm stitching on 40 count Vintage Dark Green Slate by Lakeside Linens.  Kind of like 'vintage dark black' except prettier!  Sunshine and my Ott lite are of great importance here!!

Look at this new sock yarn (like I needed more sock yarn).  Lorna's Laces Ysolda Red (thanks Mel for enabling!) and Butterscotch.  And two more skeins of that Crazy Zauberball in Red/Purple and Black/Grey/White colorways.

And, the start of a new sock using TOFUtsies yarn.  This fiber is made from superwash wool, Soysilk, cotton and Chitin.  This will shock you....Chitin is fiber made from shrimp and crab shells! NO the fiber does not stink....and the label says it's naturally antibacterial!  Go figure.....  I knit socks toe up using the Magic Loop technique.

Last, but not least, my pretty Belle.  She always likes to get in the action.  As soon as I put a blanket on the table and added the yarn she was all up in my business.  Her pose says...'Quit takin' pics of me'.....wink,wink. She loves every minute of all the attention!  She's my gal.

Thanks for stopping by and HAVE A SIMPLY FABULOUS WEEK!!

I love "June Morning" and great choice of floss! Also love your sock yarn--I have had the urge to knit lately, but I've not wanted to share stitching time with it. And isn't Belle the prettiest part of the post!

Love how the colors "pop" on this fabric, it is going to be awesome Cari! You still amaze me on your knitting, I have only done the "knit one, purl two" when I was 13 years old. Someday, I need to learn this art. Great start and as always Smiles to you....

Love your June Morning! You must have great eyes to stitch on that dark color in 40ct! That sock yarn is just luscious! I have yet to learn how to knit socks. I am not much of a knitter anyway. Have to teach myself how to cast on every time I start knitting again. lol!

Love your start Cari, the fabric color sounds awesome! I wanna see socks in the red and purple yarns next please.
Belle is precious. Maybe she'd like to spend some time in Nebraska?

I have never heard of yarn being made out of those materials. What will they think of next!! Love your start on June Morning - I think that has to be one of my favorite pieces of hers just because of the wonderful happy colors! Love your sock yarn too!

Wow, your June Morning is going to be gorgeous with those BS silks! Can't wait to watch it come together! YGG! I just used plain ol' DMC on mine, but it remains one of my favorite finishes :-)

Wow! Love the new start. I had to read that part twice, as I didn't understand about the thread paint method. I am amazed you can see on 40 count dark fabric! You are amazing!
I also love the new socks. So cute!
Hugs to you dear friend!

WOW Cari - I love your June post - all the new sock yarns are yummy and believe me you'll love BOTH of the LL colorways - I have butterscotch in the Fishermans Wool - just begging to become a gansey and my Traveling Woman shawl in the Ysolda is coming out great so I know you'll love it. Your new stitching start is awesome - I have seen that 40ct slate green - WHEEE - it's hard to see but then any 40ct is hard for me LOL - have fun - can't wait to see that sock grow. Mel
