Good Housekeeping

My sisters, Joan and Cathy, and I spent the better part of last week cleaning out our parents house.  Our brothers, Craig and Calvin, came around the end of the week to assist.  What an adventure to say the least.  We planned to have the grand-children over later in the week to select some treasures so we started the week out with darling arrangements of Spring, Easter, Halloween, Fall... and all was going quite well until we unloaded the 3rd closet of EASTER BUNNIES...  It was kind of like 'Bunnies from Hell'.  They were flying everywhere and mostly into the garbage.  We were EXHAUSED sorting, trashing, arranging, tossing, laughing, crying, ..... it just went on and on.  I do think we were quite successful however.  Most of the work is done and what is left can probably be done in a long day.

So .. as soon as I got home tonight there was a crazy bee in my bonnet (probably a brain drain from having the DREADED STOMACH FLU)!! Here's what Rick and I moved from my garage to the curb for the garbage man tomorrow.  It's quite a load...and that's just the garage!!  Next week....the closets!!!

Didn't you get enough cleaning for one week! :) I would have been plopping my butt on the couch for some much deserved R&R! Glad you're feeling better! Sorry we didn't get to see you much....but from the sounds of it, I am sure glad we didn't come down to Springville last weekend! I can do without the stomach flu!

wow! You Have been one busy girl! I'm glad things went well at your parents home. I remember doing that for my father in law and you're right.... a whole range of emotions are felt. All that stuff on your curb would be picked up in about a minute in my neighborhood. I swear, the garbage pickers are out quickly!

(((((((((((Cari)))))))))))))) I'm sure it was a tough and wonderful week, filled with a myriad of emotions. YGG on getting it done! And then coming back to your house and sorting out there, too. Whenever I am away from home for an extended amount of time, I come back and look at the house and see it -- for a bit -- with fresh eyes and it helps to get things in order a bit. Now settle in with some stitching and sort yourself out mentally, too. :) I hope the stomach flu is a thing of the past, too!

Good for you getting that all done -- I know it must have been tough. Nice that you all did it together for support. And yes, isn't it funny how you end up wanting to do the same in your own house! Great cleaning streak!

You go girl! I came home from taking you to the airport and promptly threw out a ton of stuff in the fridge...

I'm definitely in a throw-away mood!
